As if every other week isn't busy right? Hopefully you were able to read results on Mr. Gilg's KAR or hear through our twitter (or read on other parts of our site). I'm going to get right into what is happening this week since we have lots to talk about!
A brief reminder about if school closes and rehearsals. please assume you STILL HAVE REHEARSAL if school closes. we will notify via phone calls and twitter if rehearsal is cancelled. Monday - WG Rehearsal 5:00 - 8:00 pm Tuesday - WG Rehearsal 5:00 - 8:00 pm WP Rehearsal 6:00 - 9:00 pm Wednesday - WP Rehearsal 3:15 - 5:00 pm Thursday - WG Rehearsal 5:00 - 8:00 pm WP Rehearsal 6:00 - 9:00 pm Friday - ISSMA Jazz at Carroll High School - Bus departs at 3:15 pm - Performance at 5:00 pm in Large Auditorium (no admission charge) Saturday - WG performs at DeKalb HS WP performs at Pendleton Heights HS (in OPEN CLASS) some notes: If the last time you heard our Jazz Band was the Christmas Concert you REALLY need to come out on Friday night! Carroll is just a 20 minute drive from the high school and you will be very impressed with the work these kids have done! Our Winter Guard is very close to home this weekend. If you haven't seen their show you really should. These girls have put in an amazing amount of effort and I am truly in awe of their improvement from our marching season. They have really worked hard and they are achieving at a very high level! Our Winter Percussion has been promoted to the next competitive class. Open class. This is the first time in school history this has happened. That said - we are the 2nd smallest school competing at this high of a level. the next school larger than us is 400 larger. The largest school in Open class tops out at over 3,000 in their student body! To say the least we have established ourselves now as "one of the big boys". We will be acknowledged and honored with a promotion ceremony before Open Class awards on Saturday. We would LOVE if as many people from ENHS could be in the stands to help cheer during this amazing honor. We will be acknowledged once again at State Prelims (as well as receive a promotion pin). Please check the itinerary once it is posted for directions - Pendleton is near Anderson so the drive is shorter than one to Indianapolis! Thanks to everyone for all of their hard work and dedication. It truly takes an immense amount of people to make this program run. Anyone would be a fool to think one person can do it by themselves. Thanks to everyone who has helped this year and to all of our students for all of their hard work and dedication - success is evident and we are only moving forward! Special thanks to our winter staff: Mr. Cary Mr. Haydl Ryan Slone - Percussion Jason Slone - Percussion Cody Groves - Percussion Mark Johnson - Percussion Phil McConnell - Percussion Megan Price - Color Guard Garan Dion - Color Guard Colin Righter - Color Guard -- Mr. Munoz

Saturday - WG competition @ Goshen have a great week! -- Mr. Munoz Good Morning!
Last weekend the Jazz Band performed at DeKalb MS for the annual Chicken Dinner. It was a great night of food, fun, and incredible jazz bands! Our band came out hot and did an incredible job! A somewhat normal week of rehearsals coming up - however on Saturday we've got our two winter groups out competing! As suggested - we have now started putting all of the events (rehearsals included) on our Google Calendar on the front page of the website. This hopefully saves you a few clicks as you search for what you need. Itineraries for the weekend events will be posted soon - those will be on each event's respective pages. Even though it is on the front of the webpage, here is still a run down of events: Monday - WG 5:00 - 8:00 JB - 6:00 pm (performance for 8th grade night...will last until 6:30) Tuesday - WG 5:00 - 8:00 WP 6:00 - 9:00 Wednesday - WP 3:15 - 5:00 Thursday - WG 5:00 - 8:00 WP 6:00 - 9:00 Saturday - WG - Competition at Heritage (Call time TBA) WP - Competition at New Palestine (Call time TBA) I'll Leave you with a few photos from Saturday's jazz performance (Thanks Doug!) - have a great week! -- Mr. Munoz Well our week of chaos is over and the week ahead is relatively calm! We had an incredible day at ISSMA Solo and Ensemble....Below are the results:
Elementary Schools: 26 Golds / 22 Silvers Middle School: 28 Golds / 4 Silvers High School 13 Golds / 5 silvers As you can see we had no bronze or participation awards - which is a GOOD THING! To be honest with you, when I was hearing of all the golds were receiving it was tough not to have a grin on my face all day at Carroll HS. East Noble Schools had an incredible showing on Saturday and certainly every member of the school corporation should be proud of not only the way the students performed but the decorum in which they carried themselves throughout the day. As someone who visits roughly 30 different high schools a year and seeing upwards of 50-60 different high school groups I see first hand how a reputation can be tarnished of a school based on one student's lack of maturity in the way they speak, dress, and act throughout the day. And I am proud to say we leave a reputation of success and leadership through the way we prepare, execute, and carry ourselves while on site. It's tough for high school students to understand this importance but I feel we are miles ahead of many out there! BRAVO STUDENTS! NOW ON TO THIS WEEK Pretty calm...Jazz Band Performs at about 7:15 on Friday at Dekalb MS if you'd like to see us perform! It is not a competition but rather a showcase of many groups - it is a relaxed and fun time....come on out! Tuesday - WG 5:00-8:00 WP 6:00 - 9:00 Booster meeting - 7:00 pm (small band room) Wednesday - WP 3:15 - 5:00 Thursday - WG 5:00 - 8:00 WP 6:00 - 9:00 Friday - Jazz Band @ DeKalb MS. Call time at 6:00 pm Below is a picture of our Winter Percussion from Sunday....who needs Beyonce as your halftime entertainment when you have The HAWK and the EN Winter Percussion?! |
