This past Saturday, we had 13 East Noble musicians participating in the IPFW Honor Bands. Just the number of EN students participating in the IPFW Honor Bands shows a bright, potential future for our musicians! Congratulations to all whom participated! Middle School Maddie Fortman Jocelyn Hutchins Shelby Taggart Ethan Prince Amber Maxwell Abigayle Fordeck High School Mackenzie Kankovsky Amanda Bassett Amanda Hippenhammer Tayla Skidgel Meghan Nowels Arri Orewiler Deidre Kankovsky I was able to sit in on the middle school rehearsal Friday evening and it was incredible to see a lot of wonderful talent in one room working together to make some awesome music! I tip my hat to these kids because the audition process starts in mid-October to prepare 2 contrasting pieces and the necessary concert scales. From there, the auditions are submitted via e-mail and we wait for results from IPFW by Christmas. I believe the IPFW folks have the hardest job of them all: to select from all the auditions they hear to make the two honor bands happen. THANK YOU to all who auditioned for these two select groups...it is a TOUGH process! Our guru of photos and videos Doug Nowels recorded a clip of the HS Honor Band's performance from last Saturday. Thank you Doug and thank you again for all who participated and auditioned for the IPFW Honor Bands! --Mr. Cary

Welcome to February! Well.....Welcome to February later this week....
First - RESULTS FROM LAST WEEK WINTER GUARD - Our Winter Guard had a stellar first performance last weekend at homestead! They finished 4th and with a Silver Rating. As the weeks go on no only are our girls in competition with others (more importantly) they are in competition with themselves to earn a Gold Rating by the end of the year...a very cool way to compete I think. Check out the photo below! SOLO AND ENSEMBLE - Phillip Phan took a Group I (state qualifier) piano solo to ISSMA last weekend and not only earned a Gold Rating, but was .5 from perfect and has earned a trip to State! Congratulations Phil on your incredible achievement (did we mention he is a FRESHMAN?!) ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This week we find ourselves with THREE pep band games, a solo and ensemble recital and competition and a load of practices to go along with it!
